A Holiday Tradition Near The Sinclair: Ice Skating in Millennium Park

With holiday activities getting more and more expensive, and your gift list getting longer and longer, the word ‘free’ should be music to your ears. One winter tradition that won’t break the bank is Ice Skating in Millennium Park. Visit McCormick Tribune Plaza and Ice Rink for free skating seven days a week, plus free lessons and other special events. All you need is your skates, and a free admission wristband. Onsite sharpening and rentals are also available (for a fee), and then it’s onto to the ice for a festive (and calorie burning!) way to spend some time outdoors. Skaters of all skill levels are welcome, and the free lessons take place each weekend and on select Chicago Public School winter break days. Plus, the rink turns into a party with Ice Rink DJ nights on the first and third Thursday of each month through the winter. All of this fun, and it’s free? Ice Skating in Millennium Park should be at the top of your to-do list this winter.
