The Maggie Daley Park Skating Ribbon: A Winter Tradition Has Returned to Chicago

January 13th, 2020
One of the many incredible things about our great city of Chicago is how right in the middle of towering skyscrapers and business districts, you can find beautiful green spaces, world class parks, and other natural wonders. Maggie Daley Park is certainly no exception, and the Skating Ribbon is a must-visit every winter.
Far from a traditional skating rink, the Skating Ribbon carves a sinuous path through the urban landscape for an experience that’s as much about the view as it is the skating. The Skating Ribbon is about twice the size of a lap around a rink! Not a skater? Park yourself at the pavilions to sip hot chocolate and do some serious people watching.
Maggie Daley Park’s Skating Ribbon is open daily (weather permitting), and rents skates in children’s and adult sizes. Check out the website for the best parking options, Zamboni times, and more.
