Volunteer in Gold Coast Chicago by Serving With These Organizations

September 21st, 2018
At The Sinclair, we know how important it is to give back to the community and we’re happy to have residents who embrace the values of nurturing our neighborhood and being charitable Chicagoans. If you’re looking for different ways you can give back to our community this month, check out the resources and spots below and begin your work as a volunteer in Gold Coast Chicago and its surrounding neighborhoods.
Senior Breakfast Club
Held at the nearby Zelda Ormes Apartments, the Senior Breakfast Club prepares and serves a delicious, hot meal to low-income seniors. Volunteers will also play interactive games with the seniors following breakfast. Zelda Ormes is a two-minute walk from The Sinclair. To sign up for this opportunity and for more information, click here. This service opportunity takes place on Saturday mornings.
Old Town Triangle Association
Looking to combine your passion for the arts with serving your community? Look no further than the Old Town Triangle Association. The OTTA is famous for its Art Fair, which is put on by 30 organizers and 700 volunteers in June. Learn more about volunteering with the Art Fair here or sign up to serve in other ways year-round with OTTA. The organization is always seeking volunteers to help with neighborhood improvements, education, events and historic preservation. Learn more about those opportunities here. The OTTA is a 19-minute walk or four-minute drive from The Sinclair.
WITS Kindergarten Program
Working in the Schools (WITS) Kindergarten program works to help students build literacy skills and positive self-identity. Each week, kindergarten students will work one-on-one reading with a volunteer throughout the course of the academic year. Join WITS at Ogden Elementary School on Wednesday mornings beginning in October 2018. Ogden Elementary School is a ten-minute walk or eight-minute subway ride from The Sinclair. Learn more about this opportunity here.
How will you make a difference and spread light, love and hope in the Gold Coast community? Let us know and happy serving!
