Take One of These Labor Day Road Trips

labor day road trips

Labor Day is right around the corner and that means the final trip of the summer will be here before we know it too. If you’re unsure of where to travel to this Labor Day, all of us here at The Sinclair encourage you to check out one of these nearby cities for the long weekend.

Indianapolis, IN.

A weekend in Indianapolis promises good Midwestern food, art and fun for the whole family. Check out a plethora of restaurants downtown, take in art at Indianapolis Museum of Art and paddle a boat on the canal. Head to the Indianapolis Zoo or the Children’s Museum for an afternoon of fun with the kiddos. The zoo houses five different animal habitats and the Indianapolis Children’s Museum is the largest children’s museum in the world. The Circle City is just a three hour drive from The Sinclair.

Starved Rock, IL.

Starved Rock State Park is one of Illinois’ most beautiful nature attractions. The park boasts waterfalls, 13 miles of hiking trails, boating, fishing and much more. You can stay in a cozy cabin or lodge room right inside the park. Starved Rock is an hour and 40 minute drive from The Sinclair.

Madison, WI.

The Wisconsin capital is known for its beautiful State Capitol building, expansive Henry Vilas Zoo and Lake Mendota. Tour the capitol building or pay a visit to the Olbrich Botanical Gardens for 16 acres of indoor and outdoor gardens. Spend a day sailing on the lake before you head back to the Windy City. Madison is a two and a half hour drive from The Sinclair.

Where will you road trip this summer? We hope this list inspires you to get out and explore some of our neighboring cities and states. Be sure to tag us in your social media snaps from the road.
