Chicago End of Summer Bucket List

summer bucket list

Before we know it, the hot weather will cool, the green leaves will fade to a burnt orange and summer will be over. All of us here at The Sinclair challenge you to take in these final moments of the summer season by completing your summer bucket list. Here are a few more items to add to your Chicago end of summer bucket list.

Take in Something Beautiful at a Local Art Museum

Choose from a variety of local art museums and feast your eyes on intricately-designed sculptures, detailed paintings and modern art installations. Head to the Smart Museum of Art where you can view over 12,000 pieces or pay a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art. In Chicago, the options are endless.

Go Stargazing

Though Chicago, like most big cities, is notorious for its light pollution, that doesn’t mean you can’t experience a night of gazing up at the stars and planets above. Take a day trip to Wisconsin’s Governor Dodge State Park for unobstructed views of the night sky. Governor Dodge State Park is a three-and-a-half-hour drive from The Sinclair.

Go Back in Time at the Renaissance Faire

Spend the day at the Bristol Renaissance Faire. Held on the Wisconsin/Illinois border, the fair runs on Saturdays and Sundays now through September 3. Enjoy turkey legs, pub crawls and costumes! The Bristol Renaissance Faire is an hour and nine minute drive from The Sinclair. Tickets range in price from $11.50 to $150.00.

Celebrate Art & Culture at the Chicago Jazz Festival

The Chicago Jazz Festival is the perfect way to spend Labor Day weekend. The free festival runs from August 24 to September 2 and throughout a variety of venues across the city. For more information on performance dates, times and venues, visit the official website.

So, what’s on your end of summer bucket list? We hope The Sinclair’s list inspires you to get outside, be a tourist in your own city and make magic summer memories. Be sure to tag us in your bucket list snaps on social media!
